Kutchey Family Farm started in the early 1800’s in Warren Michigan. Selling mostly potatoes, eggs, and milk from their farmhouse. Joe Kutchey Sr. took over the family farm from his father and started in 1956 raising fruits and vegetables creating the farm market that you know and love today. In 1957 he married Carolyn and started their family. In 1965 they purchased 50 acres in Northern Macomb County and continued farming bringing a truckload of produce back to the original farm everyday.
When Joe and Carolyn’s oldest son, Joe, graduated from Michigan State University in 1979 he came back home and helped to expand the operation. In 1989, an open-air market on 26 Mile Rd. carrying all the fresh fruits and vegetables that we have become known for, was started to bring the fresh items to the growing suburbs and local community.
With the growth of the farm, David decided to come back to help manage the Warren location in 1990. The farm from its quaint beginnings now covers over 300 acres of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with greenhouses in the spring. In addition to the homegrown produce, our markets now offer homemade jams, jellies, salsas and much more…
Today, we have both locations operating May- October, with the Warren market staying open through December 24 th with Christmas Trees, Wreaths, and Variety of Winter Vegetables. Be sure to stop by either location, and visit with the family!
